Ozone can be made from ambient air or from pure oxygen. Air brings nitrogen by-products with it; pure oxygen doesn't. Ours is made from oxygen in twin quartz crystal cells, and every part the gas touches - cell, seals, tubing, fittings - is ozone-resistant, so nothing degrades into what you're using.

Is it safe?
Used correctly, ozone therapy has a long safety record. The figure most often quoted comes from a survey of German practitioners covering 384,775 patients and more than five million sessions, with 40 adverse events reported. It is worth knowing what that is: a practitioner self-report survey, not a controlled trial, describing clinical administration rather than home use.
For home use, safety comes down to three things.
Ozone must never be inhaled. Every home protocol is designed to keep it out of the lungs.
Concentration matters. Each protocol has a specified range - which is exactly why a generator with one or two fixed outputs cannot run them all safely.
Materials matter. Ozone is corrosive. Anything it contacts must be ozone-resistant, or it degrades and contaminates what you are putting into your body.
