New Guidelines for Treating Fibromyalgia
Have you heard about the International Scientific Committee of Ozone Therapy (ISCO3)? It is a global organization dedicated to promoting the safe and effective use of ozone therapy.
ISCO3 brings together leading experts in the field to share knowledge, conduct research, and establish international standards for ozone therapy.
A recent document produced by this group discusses the use of ozone therapy as a treatment for fibromyalgia. It covers:
- Background of fibromyalgia
- Symptoms of fibromyalgia
- Conventional treatments for fibromyalgia
- Information on the use of ozone therapy for fibromyalgia, including recommended treatment regime for the home ozone friendly protocol rectal insufflation.
- All the results from the most recent promising trials using ozone therapy complementary to standard treatments.
Here are the recommendations for RI as a complementary therapy for fibromyalgia. Do not take this as personal medical advice, please consult your chose health practitioner:
- cycles of 5 sessions per week for 4 weeks with increasing dosage i.e., 10 initial sessions at low dose and 10 following session and medium dose.
- High doses for this condition are not used (see table 1)
- The week 3 dose is maintained through the rest of sessions. Repeat the RIO3 cycle at 4 to 5 months after the last session depending on patients’ clinical recovery and relapses.
